The appointment of NG Bailey and Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick to deliver the Electrical and Instrumentation framework by Programme and Project Partners has been welcomed by the Swimming with the Big Fish SME Matchmaker Service.
The framework agreement is worth £485 to £600 million over the life of the programme – the largest framework to be awarded by PPP.

The announcement comes hot on the heels of the Heating and Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) framework award to Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick and EJ Parker Technical Services and Goods/Services Agreements for Fabrication and Manufacturing work at the Sellafield site.
The frameworks have been procured under a new Multi Project Procurement (MPP) model which encourages long-term collaboration throughout the supply chain, enhanced project delivery, and paves the way for greater economic and social impact in the West Cumbria region.
As part of its pioneering approach to project delivery and local impact, PPP engaged with the Swimming with the Big Fish SME Matchmaker Service, which is being delivered by Solomons Europe.
Our service brokers introductions and develops relationships between those bidding to become key delivery partners and high performing SMEs willing to invest in West Cumbria.
We’ve helped match a number of SMEs with NG Bailey and Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick. These SMEs – along with those matched for the HVAC framework – are now set to create jobs, apprenticeship opportunities, establish new or invest in existing facilities in the region and deliver a whole host of social impact initiatives.
It’s a huge stride forward in achieving PPP’s shared ambition to create a clean and safe environment at the Sellafield site for future generations, improve sustainability and better outcomes for the local economy and communities. We’re extremely proud to be playing a part.
