It’s fair to say that we’re not shy of taking on big challenge at Solomons. At the end of the day, we’ve carved a niche in providing industry leading Quantity Surveying, commercial management, and procurement services to support some of the most complex projects taking place in the UK!
But in May, we’re turning our attention to a different kind of challenge – and one that’s more physically testing than mental!
Sunday, May 1 marked the start of the Solomons Step Challenge, where we’ll be raising money for the British Heart Foundation's 'Walk This May' initiative.
We have 4 teams competing in this daunting challenge – to walk, run and cycle the distance of John o Groats to Land’s End via our regional offices across the North by the end of the month. So, that’s a total of 987.4 miles per team – or 10,000 steps each day per team member!
Solomons will be donating a lump sum British Heart Foundation, including bonus donations for activities involving groups of people from Solomons (and they don’t necessarily have to be on the same team) and for those who post pictures of themselves “in action” on our company intranet.
Team members will also be raising extra cash through the dedicated Solomons Step Challenge Just Giving Page, where you too can show your support by making a donation!
Our intrepid participants have got off to a flying start and we’re sure the competition will get fierce during the month given we’re a pretty active bunch and, well, quite competitive by nature!
Because while the team with the most steps at the end of May will win and pick up a prize for the honour of doing so, the team that finishes bottom will receive some lovely wooden spoons! The pressure is on!
Watch this space for updates and we will, of course, be announcing the winning team and total raised for this fantastic cause at the end of the month.
