Team Solomons had an absolutely fantastic away day in a very sunny and hot Lake District!

It was the first time we’d managed to get members of our North East, North West and Cumbrian teams together in one place for almost 3 years – and we certainly made the most of it!

The day at Leeming House hotel on the shores of Ullswater kicked off with a company update. Our refreshed Philosophy, Purpose, Vision, Mission and Values was shared by owners Dominic and Kerry Doig, in response to developments of the past few years during the coronavirus pandemic and the continued evolution of the construction industry (watch this space for the external launch coming soon).

It was then on to the action-packed ‘I’m in the Lake District get me out of here!’ challenge, where we split into five teams to tackle axe throwing, orienteering, canoeing and a gourmet bush craft challenge, before winding down a little for a brilliant Bird of Prey experience. Bonus points were dished out to those with strong stomachs brave enough to take on a Bush Tucker Trial.

There was a winning team, but naturally, it was all about taking part and having fun!

The coronavirus pandemic has put so many things on hold, so it was a fantastic opportunity to catch up face-to-face, plan ahead and let our hair down.

With lunch thrown in, and weather that was almost too kind, it’s fair to say the team left in high spirits and a bit of a Lake District tan!

We’re now well and truly fired up for the rest of 2022 and beyond.
