Solomons Europe has expressed its delight at the decision by the winner of a £1,000 prize to Pay it Forward to two young start-up companies.
As part of its long-running sponsorship of the Start Up category of the Britain’s Energy Coast Business Cluster Awards, we include the no strings attached cash prize to give the winner a helping hand on their journey.
In true Pay it Forward spirit 2022 winner Circular1 Health, which delivers workforce health programmes, decided to split the money and gift it on to fledgling businesses Kultuur and Love at First Bite by Amber after working in collaboration with The Entrepreneurs Group.
Kultuur has big ambitions to become a multifaceted business that supports the creative industry, with a unique clothing range already launched and plans for flexible studio space set to follow soon. Love at First Bite by Amber is a bespoke cake maker based in Whitehaven, a stone’s throw from Kultuur.
The two businesses were presented with cheques by Circular1 Health Chief Executive Stuart McLennan at our Papcastle Depot offices in West Cumbria recently. Speaking of his pride at winning the hotly contested BECBC Start-Up award, he added; “Starting and developing a business in the current climate is a huge challenge and we wish them both every success and hope our small contribution will help.”
In response, Solomons Managing Director Dominic Doig says: “Paying it Forward is at the very core of the Solomons ethos and demonstrates our hands-on approach to delivering meaningful social impact in the regions we operate in.
“We know our ethos is shared by many fellow SMEs such as Circular1 Health, so we’re delighted they chose to pass on the baton to two fledgling start-ups with bags of energy and big ambitions. We’ll certainly be keeping a close eye on Kultuur and Love at First Bite by Amber and wish them all the best in their exciting journeys ahead.”
