The 2023 Solomons Community Impact Champion award goes to Project Quantity Surveyor, Alex Sheldon
What the nominators said…
Already a longstanding Solomons CSR committee representative, Alex jumped at the chance to join the Community Fundraising Forum, taking on the lead role for the North West team and immediately signed up to the ‘Couch to 5k’ in preparation for his 10k ‘Run It Back’ challenge. Not taking himself too seriously, he produced hilarious training videos which he shared via YouTube, using his many networks to bring much needed attention to the Clatterbridge Cancer Charity cause. Alex is such a genuine person. His passion, time and commitment has helped achieve something really special this year.
What the judges said…
Alex had the bit between his teeth from the launch of the Solomons Community Fundraising Challenge. Stepping up to the plate by setting his personal challenges (and producing videos documenting his trials and tribulations) he brought an abundance of fundraising ideas to the table to aid the North West team’s efforts for the Clatterbridge Cancer Charity. They are set to receive a sizeable donation in no small part due to his leadership, entrepreneurial efforts, imagination and commitment to this fabulous cause.
What Alex said…
I feel very proud to receive an award and it was lovely to read all those nominations. It’s a great way to mark my 10th year at the company. I'm lucky to work for a company that takes community impact so seriously (and that there’s an actual award for it!). And I’m grateful to Solomons for enabling and supporting the Community Fundraising Forum.
