The 2023 Solomons Rising Star award goes to Intermediate Quantity Surveyor, Carl Wright

What the nominators said…
Carl has had a fantastic 2023, smashing his MSc Apprenticeship Plus programme, achieving an amazing grade and is progressing with his APC sign offs, as well as picking up the UCEM’s Postgraduate Apprentice of the Year Award. He is also growing in his client role, gaining the trust of his client team, taking on more and more responsibility and continually receiving glowing feedback. It’s great to see Carl’s hunger and drive for continued career growth – he’s really flourishing. These achievements alone would justify the award but add to them the chaos of a young and growing family, house moves and renovations, his professional progress has been nothing short of amazing.

What the judges said…
Carl’s focused and determined efforts, alongside his willingness to help others, has seen him shine within the North West team – not only for those he works alongside day to day, but those from the wider team who have witnessed his kind and supportive attitude across the wider team. His ‘Pay it Forward’ mentality will be a strong asset to the team and throughout Carl’s career development and professional achievements. He has an amazing future ahead.

I’m shocked but extremely honoured to get this award. Since joining Solomons it’s been a real whirlwind of a journey. I’ve learned and developed so much thanks to the incredible support I’ve received from people throughout the company. I really appreciate the comments from those who nominated me and it’s brilliant to be recognised by my peers. While it’s been a fantastic year, I’m really looking forward to what the future holds.
