Team North West in pole position as fundraising challenge enters final straight

Team North West is at the head of the pack as Solomons’ new fundraising challenge for 2023 enters the final straight.

As of mid-August, they are just a few pounds from hitting the £2,500 target our regional teams have been set to achieve by the end of the year as part of the Solomons Community Fundraising Forum initiative.

Standing at £2,433, they’re pulling away from their North East counterparts on £1,705 and streets ahead of Team Cumbria languishing in third on £1,128.

When it comes to the best individual performers, things are closer. The North West’s Alex Sheldon and North East’s Josh Brown are almost neck and neck, having raised £796 and £745 respectively. Dawn Keenan props up the top three with £363.

While – as you can see – our regional teams are a competitive bunch, their steely focus is on raising as much as they can for charity. Instead of making direct donations as a company, Solomons’ regional teams have picked up the baton and partnered with a worthy local charity to raise funds for their vital community work by organising fundraising activities and taking part in running and walking challenges.

Team Cumbria has partnered with West House, the North West with the Clatterbridge Cancer Charity, while the North East Team is working with the Zoe's Place Trust (Middlesbrough). Solomons is also offering additional donations for the top fundraising regional team and individual.

So far, the teams have taken part on the Grasmere Gallop, Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge and Run Media City and arranged fundraising social activities including dress down says, Ten Pin Bowling and knitted Easter Bunnies! All three teams have their thinking caps on when it comes to new initiatives to boost their funds, with the finish line just four-and-a-half months away.

You can head over to their Just Giving Pages and give as much or as little as you can.
