A huge congratulations to Dawn Keenan, who picked up the Unsung Hero award at the Programme and Project Partners (PPP) Excellence Awards ceremony on Thursday (May 12) at a glittering ceremony in West Cumbria.
Dawn is Project Co-ordinator for the Multi-Project Procurement Team at PPP. She’s played an integral role in a team that’s awarded £1bn of Framework Agreements to the supply chain – and all within the original programme dates.
The awards celebrated the individual and collective achievements of the PPP team, which comprises 1,500 people, and the winners were decided by the PPP Board representing Sellafield Ltd and Lot Partners KBR, Jacobs, Morgan Sindall Infrastructure and Doosan Babcock. Dawn was also Exceptional Colleague of the Year.
PPP is a 20-year framework of megaprojects which aims to transform project delivery at the Sellafield site, its supply chain and the socioeconomic landscape of Cumbria. Sellafield Ltd has adopted the Multi-Project Procurement (MPP) commercial model which encourages long-term collaboration throughout the supply chain, enhanced project delivery, and paves the way for greater economic and social impact in the West Cumbria region.
Reflecting on the award, Solomons Executive Director John Rossiter, says: “I know Dawn is characteristically modest and will have hated having the spotlight thrust up on her, but I was delighted that her hard work and commitment has been recognised.
“She always goes above and beyond. She does PPP and Solomons proud each and every day, so it was brilliant to see her receive the award and have some time in the spotlight.”
Solomons’ Swimming with the Big Fish SME Matchmaker Service team were also at the awards, which took place at Energus, Lillyhall. The team shortlisted in another hotly contested category celebrating collaboration.
