The North East is leading the way when it comes to the development of green energy schemes.
And Solomons Europe is proud to be helping to deliver what will be the largest purpose-built biomass power facility in the world at Teesport in Teesside.
Tees Renewable Energy Plant – or Tees Rep as it is commonly known – is a £650 million project that will generate enough energy to power 600,000 homes when complete.
We have been supporting major EPC contractor Shanahan Engineering on its multi-million-pound work to install an Air Cooled Condenser at the 299MW biomass-powered, combined heat and power (CHP) plant.
Providing post contract commercial support services, our work includes assisting with procurement, subcontract management, dealing with variations, financial control and reporting, and supporting the senior leadership team with provision of appropriate commercial information.
Shanahan Engineering is a Dublin-headquartered energy services company with a strong record in the construction, commissioning and plant operation of large-scale projects across the world.
Tees Rep is being developed by MGT Teesside, a subsidiary of MGT Power.
Construction began in early 2017. The plant was scheduled to come online in 2020 although its completion has been delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
